<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<ul id="ingredientsList">
<li>1 (28-oz) can whole tomatoes in purée</li>
<li>1 medium onion, chopped</li>
<li>2 tablespoons olive oil</li>
<li>1 tablespoon tomato paste</li>
<li>2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar</li>
<li>1/2 cup cider vinegar</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon salt</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Directions</strong><br />
Purée the tomatoes in a blender until it is smooth. Then cook the onions in oil on a saucepan over medium heat then stir until it&#8217;s soft. (approx. 8 minutes). Add the tomato puree, tomato paste, salt, brown sugar and vinegar then simmer uncovered. Keep stirring until it gets very thick. (1 hour approx.)</p>
